The Chesterfield Scholar Athlete Program recognizes CCPS high school students who excel in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service. Each school nominates two student-athlete who meet rigorous criteria, including a 3.5 GPA, athletic achievement, strong character, and community involvement. From 22 honorees, two Scholar Athletes of the Year will be selected to receive $1,000 scholarships and permanent recognition on the Sports Hall of Fame Wall at River City Sportsplex.

- Academic Excellence
- Minimum GPA: Maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Class Participation: Actively participates in class, displaying a positive attitude toward learning.
- Responsibility: Effectively balances academic and athletic responsibilities.
- Academic/ Extra Curricular: Participates in a minimum of one extracurricular CCPS activity.
- Athletic Performance
- Commitment to Training: Regularly attends practices and puts forth consistent effort in improving skills and athleticism on the field.
- Competition Achievement: Stands out in competitions through leadership, sportsmanship, or personal achievements.
- Leadership & Sportsmanship
- Positive Attitude: Displays a strong work ethic and a positive attitude toward both academic and athletic responsibilities.
- Leadership: Demonstrates leadership qualities such as motivating teammates, helping others improve, and setting a positive example.
- Respect & Integrity: Shows respect for coaches, opponents, teammates, and fans.
- Community Involvement & Character Development
- Community Service: Actively participates in community service or school-related activities that support academic, athletic, or community initiatives.
- Character Development: Showcases a commitment to personal growth, including but not limited to goal setting, perseverance, etc.
Nomination: Between September 1 and October 31, 2025, each CCPS high school Director of Student Activities is required to nominate two student-athletes. A total of 22 honorees will be selected and announced in late November. These students will be formally recognized at the 2026 Chesterfield Sports Hall of Fame Banquet, tentatively scheduled for April 23, 2026.
Each honoree will receive a $500 scholarship and will be featured on CBS 6 in the weeks leading up to the banquet. All honorees will also be scheduled for a visit to the CBS 6 studio in December to record their featured segment.
Selection: A committee composed of CCPS and Chesterfield County leadership will review all nominations using the established selection criteria. From the group of honorees, two Scholar Athletes of the Year will be chosen. Each will receive a $1,000 scholarship and have their name engraved on the Hall of Fame Wall at River City Sportsplex.
